Introducing our Keynote Speakers
Richard’s story is an example of where triumph overcomes tragedy. As a young boy Richard had a tragic experience which resulted in his life changing forever. However he did not allow this experience to hold him back and has gone on to live an inspiring and fruitful life.
Head of the NI Office of International Committee of the Red Cross, Anne has worked with
communities most affected by ongoing violence and in the field of humanitarianism and social justice for several decades starting when she spent two years as a volunteer in Sudan with Concern. Prior to moving to the ICRC in early 2014, Anne worked as a Regional Development with Pobal coordinating EU Peace & Reconciliation and Interreg and national social inclusion programmes for County Donegal.
AJ & Rachel – Peace Players
Seventeen-year-olds AJ McMinn and Rachel Madden went to primary schools in Belfast just across the street from each other. One Protestant. One Catholic. But they grew up in separate worlds and never crossed the road to speak. Today, they’re the best of friends, having formed a friendship across the divide with the help of PeacePlayers International.

Exhibitions / Showcases
Observing a Public Debate is a fine spectacle with fast thinking, attention to detail, structure, timing and humour! We love nothing better than to engage in a good clash of minds! We can’t promise a verbally clean debate but we can promise you’ll be entertained!
Each year a dozen or so brave soles put their fears behind them and deliver their personal experiences on a choice of 3 topics. Our Public Speaking competition gives members the chance to really push themselves and reach new heights.
Each year JCI search for the best and boldest Young People across the nation taking the opportunity to recognise their contributions towards respective fields. Past Award Winners have engaged in Community Initiatives, Scientific research & developments and overcome life challenges.
